Try this

Write the main point in plain language, choose an example, observation, step or verified figure that illustrates it, explain the connection in one sentence, and remove details that do not change understanding or action. If you began with a detail, reverse the sequence by stating the broader point it supports.

Check-in: What is the general point, which concrete detail makes it easier to understand, what does that detail show here, and which specifics can be removed without changing the meaning?

Evidence: Practical guidance; no evidence-like claim is detected in the current source record.

Review note: The inherited article contained unsupported cognitive-mechanism and rhetoric authority, fabricated recall and throughput effects, invented internal examples and rigid abstract-to-concrete ratios and timing prescriptions. The effective public record is a bounded editing move between a general point and a concrete example or observable detail.

Messages often fail in opposite directions: a broad label can leave the audience asking what it means here, while a pile of details can leave them asking why any of it matters. Connect the levels deliberately. State the point, show a relevant detail, and then say what the detail means for the point.

1. State the general point

Write the idea, principle, conclusion or concern in language the audience can recognize. Replace jargon when it hides the actual claim or decision. If the point is still too broad to guide a useful example, narrow it first.

2. Add one relevant concrete detail

Choose an example, observed event, step, constraint, quote or verified figure that belongs directly to the point. Prefer a detail you can explain accurately over a dramatic example that only resembles the topic.

3. Explain the connection

State what the detail illustrates and why it matters to the current message. This bridge is especially important when the audience could interpret the same example in several ways.

4. Remove detail that does not serve the task

Keep boundaries and facts that could change the conclusion. Move secondary context to a supporting layer and remove scene-setting, metrics or examples that do not help the audience understand, verify or act on the point.

Questions to consider

Should I always start with the general point?

No. Start where the audience needs orientation. A concrete incident may be the clearest opening when the problem is unfamiliar; a general point may be better when the audience already knows the details. In either case, connect the two levels explicitly.

What counts as a useful concrete detail?

Use a detail that answers a likely question about the point: what happened, what changed, what the step looks like, which constraint applies, or which verified value matters. Specificity that does not serve the message is only extra detail.

How do I avoid oversimplifying?

Keep the qualification that would change the conclusion or next action. Move secondary detail elsewhere if necessary, but do not remove a boundary merely because it makes the sentence shorter.
